This course is for you if you have been learning Irish for at least 6 months; or if you did school Irish but it never quite fell into place.

The course teaches every aspect of the present tense - how to make the present tense; how to ask questions and give replies; how to use question words correctly (cén fáth / conas / cé mhéad / cé etc.); how to use indirect speech in the present tense; and finally all about the irregular verbs in the present tense. If you are already confident in all of these areas then this course may not be for you. But if you're not sure don't hesitate to contact me. We can also arrange a live chat on zoom if necessary.

The course will also be useful for building vocabulary, as each conversation is packed with lots of useful idiomatic phrases which are generally not found in textbooks.

In any case, you can let me know within 14 days of the date of purchase if the course is not for you and I will arrange a full refund.

I speak Connacht Irish, and Joe Ó Fátharta, who you will hear on the conversation tracks, is a native Irish speaker from Indreabhán, in the Cois Fharraige Gaeltacht. Therefore, the course tends towards Connacht Irish.

However, the course will still be of benefit to anyone focusing on a different dialect, or none, as the structure of the language is the same in all three main dialects, and any major differences will be highlighted in the explanatory video each week.

You will access the material each week through your own personal account. You can access your account either through the All About Irish website; or via a free downloadable app.

You will have access to the course in your account for a minimum of one year after the start of the course.

You can also download the course booklets to keep forever.

If you have any questions at all during the course you can post them in the forum under each lesson in your account. This is a good idea, as you can be sure someone else is experiencing the same problem!

We've all done it! Signed up enthusiastically for courses but never actually finished them.

This course is different. Firstly, the material is divided into manageable chunks for you to work through one short lesson at a time. This phased release ensures that there is no chance of being overwhelmed.

Each lesson as concise and short as possible, while yet delivering maximum learning. You don't need to sit down for an hour at a time during this course.

You can do as much or as little as you like - just watch the videos and listen to the comhrá once each week (less than 20 minutes); or if you have more time listen to the comhrá (conversation) multiple times; take the quiz; and do the worksheets. How much time you want to put into the course is up to you, but you will get something out of it even with a shorter time commitment.
